Surface Tensions
The second exhibition as part of Nouri’s Open Call 2022.
Featuring 4 artists at the forefront of the local arts scene, Dylan Chan, ila, Sarah Isabelle Tan and Zulkhairi Zulkiflee, the artworks in the exhibition explore the stability of the photographic surface. Through processes of distortion and transformation, they open up questions of representation, memory and time.
The works presented revisited the prints from An Edifice w/o, with a piece from that exhibtion and a new print for this. Forming tangent point across both exhibitions, creating a space to rethink and ponder sentimentality within images.
