Title: Puddles Puddles

Presented at Starch, Puddles Puddles is an expansion on the floor series.  An exhibition centered around Sara Ahmed’s happy objects as a prelude, the show looks at various ways and agencies wherein artists and audience members function within an artistic space.

“We are moved by things. And in being moved, we make things.”

In Happy Objects, Ahmed describes the relationship people have with objects. And while she discusses the concept of happiness as an affective emotion, 𝘮𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘵𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘧𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 looks at affect on a broader spectrum. The artists in the show propose ways of orientating around various arrays, and disarrays. From common objects to digital manipulation, 𝘮𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘵𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘧𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 prompts, nudges and whispers.

The installation , Puddles Puddles, inquirers about the various surfaces and objects which the body comes into contact with. Taking puddles as a for of accumulation, the use of parquet demarcates a space which the body lingers within.
